Back in 2007, Lyle brought in a couple and asked them to articulate their vision. Their birth dates were about 10 years apart — a rather unique planning challenge.

But they wanted to retire at the same time.

They both worked in the schools, and their pensions were predicated on the amount of time they had worked.

Every year, Lyle would meet with them in February.

And every year, the question was the same: Are we on track to retire at the end of the school year in 2019?

In February of 2018, she asked again.

Lyle's answer: no — you're actually on track to retire at the end of the school year this year, 2018. They were both extremely excited and put in their papers to retire at the end of the school year of 2018.
